During a Christmas family party in a borrowed youth room at my parent’s church, I ventured out on a hunt for trash bags. As I turned the corner toward the kitchen, I was surprised to run into someone dressed as Santa Claus!
After a brief introduction of his REAL identity (they were in the middle of an outreach ministry) and learning of his pastoral leadership role at the church, I asked if he had received my email about released time sent a few months back. He indicated some technology troubles, so we ended up chatting about how their church could possibly be a great host site for a Released Time Bible Education since there are schools close by.
In 2 Timothy 4:2 all believers are admonished to be ready to “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching (ESV).”
It’s a great idea to always be ready to share the hope we have in Jesus Christ - whether that means carrying tracts, released time Bible flyers, or just the words of the Bible from your own mouth. God will use us as we are ready!
